Financial Literacy and Stock Market Trading

 

I've been involved with global markets since 2019. Growing up in Turkey, I had to learn the instruments to counter heavy inflation (recent 2023 number was 64.77%, which are probaby heavily reduced official numbers). I've had to deal with dollarization, currency depreciation, heavily taxed commodities and a manipulated local stock market. I learned that things can go down for a long time and there are always ways to find opportunities as long as you can stay afloat.

I traded heavily with my net worth and student loans around 2022-2023 when the covid outbreak caused volatile turbulences in the global markets including the cryptocurrency markets. I already had experience from working in a cryptocurrency exchange, an algorithmic trading startup and being involved in an investment club at school. I then started to explore the more pscyhological side of trading rather than just focusing on numbers and charts.

I make yearly consistent positive gains enough to give me a headspace in my yearly spendings for instruments, electronics, travel and vehicle maintenance expenses.

My favourite technical indicator is Bollinger Bands and my favourite ever book about trading is Unknown Market Wizards by Jack D. Schwager. I'm also interested in Wall Street Individuals like Nassim Nicholas Taleb and Martin Shkreli.

In 2022 I was watching Binance leaderboard traders and also a few on Twitter that were trading publicly on the leaderboard and I had a collection of whales that I was monitoring. I developed a console app with C# to constantly watch and fetch their positions whenever they would open a new one but it would scale the trade size to a 1/1000th since the whales were trading with millions while I had a budget of a few thousands dollars.

I had a cloud server running it constantly but right before I was about to publicly sell it to people online for them to use the system Binance closed this leaderboard API from the public to bring people in to their own Copy Trading platform so I had to close it down...
